Brother Knights:
As newly elected Grand Knight of the Blessed Antonio Rosmini Council #14278, I would like to express my sincere gratitude in the memberships’ confidence in my abilities to move the mission of the Knights of Columbus forward for the 2009-2010 calendar year. As my first official act, I want to extend my deepest appreciation to our past Grand Knight team (Miguel and Laura Molina) plus Miguel’s entire supporting staff for an outstanding year of well-executed charity and fraternal activities that culminated in receiving the Star Council Award for a second year. Additional congratulations are in order for all newly elected staff members and committee directors.
I have started this new year with two planning meetings at my home to develop a yearly calendar and a proposed budget. I will also meet with committee directors separately to design the council program and projected annual activities. I encourage all council members to visit our website at http://kofc14278.blogspot.com/ to get the latest activity and degree exemplification dates.
Finally, I urge all members to step up to volunteer for any of the five committees and assist the director in performing his ‘labor of love’. Remember the four principles of the Knights of Columbus Order (charity, unity, fraternity, and patriotism) and your commitment as Catholic gentlemen to help a brother knight and family in need or distress. I look forward to understanding your needs, concerns, and meeting your families at our monthly socials. {A REMINDER: our officers’ and business meeting dates will change beginning in September 2009. Meetings in July and August remain unchanged: (business meetings (3rd Monday of the month) and officers’ meeting (the Thursday prior to the business meeting). Our New Officers’ Installation is scheduled for 26 July after the 11:00 Mass. Uniform for inductees is coat and tie. Please join us in this solemn occasion. Your RSVP is required, to Chito, by noon on Saturday, 25 July.
